Infrared Thermography
Stop Electrical Failures
Before They Occur
The best electrical repairs are made before failure occurs.
At
Schultheis Electric we have Level 1 Thermographers on staff. Our infrared
thermography personnel are factory trained and ready to diagnose and
uncover problems before they cost you downtime, repair bills, and
possible injuries.
With infrared thermography, a special camera converts radiant heat
energy into an image. The resulting thermograph displays a picture of
radiant energy in proportion to temperature. In the hands of a trained
professional, there is no better way to diagnose incipient electrical
problems.

Project Types
Electrical distribution and electrical equipment failures are often
preceded by a rise in temperature. This is easily isolated by an
experienced electrical thermograpy expert.
Regularly scheduled infrared thermography inspections help eliminate costly emergencies and even
prevent tragic disasters. At Schultheis Electric, we typically inspect:
- High Voltage and Medium Voltage Distribution Systems.
- Overhead Lines and Substations.
- Motor Control Centers and Control Panels.
- Circuit Breaker Panels, Disconnects, and Fuses.
- Both AC and DC Electrical Motors.
Infrared Thermography has other uses as well. It can identify areas
of commercial buildings that have been penetrated by moisture and will
therefore be subject to mold, rot, and premature weathering. Examination
of furnaces and boilers can reveal insulation loss, expensive
inefficiencies, or areas weakening toward failure.
Our thermography inspection documents include a detailed look at all
findings and recommendations for correcting any problems uncovered
during the inspection.
